Meelie skipped into the ice cream parlor smiling as she always was. She often visited the quaint little parlor but today, she actually had money to buy some ice cream. She jumped to a stop in front of the counter and gazed down at all the many flavors. Which to choose, which to choose.

She placed a finger adorned with chipping orange nail polish to a pair of pursed lips. She looked up at the sign that said what kind of combinations she could make. Her smile widened when she saw the choice that let her use four different flavors. Score!

Meelie looked at the person working the counter and pointed to four flavors. "I'll have chocolate, vanilla, cookie dough, and coffee please!"

Meelie spun around at the sound of her name. She smiled when she saw Saybra. She turned back to the counter and was handed her ice cream. She quickly paid and walked over to her.

"Hey Saybra!" She said childishly. Normally when she came to the ice cream parlor she was the only one in here. It was refreshing to find someone else enjoying ice cream for once.

Meelie happily sat down in a chair across from Saybra. "Thanks!" She said cheerfully as she licked her ice cream. Yum....It was awesome to have money for once She thought.

Meelie nodded in agreement with her. "I know. I'm glad we found each other. I'm in dire need for a good conversation, especially over ice cream. Those are the best kinds of conversations."

Meelie laughed. "That's more than I've been doing. I've been sitting around with my bitch of an aunt. Bleh..." She stuck at her tongue at the mention of her aunt. She hated her with a very strong passion.

Meelie laughed. She hated her aunt with such a strong passion she was surprised she even held that much emotion in her small body. She was always trying to tell her neice what was best for her, like she actually knew what Meelie was thinking and feeling. Often Meelie scoffed at her aunt and tried to spend as much time out of the house as possible. The two were just too different and her aunt was too much of a control freak for Meelie to handle.

She sighed, finding herself at a loss for words. No, she just could not find the way she wanted to put her words together. "Eh, I wouldn't know if she was worse than your mom, but I do know that my aunt thinks she knows everything when she knows nothing."

Meelie was a bit suprised by Saybra's cheerfullness at her own mother's death. She would do anything to know how her own mother was doing. If she was still being treated for the cancer, if she was in intermission, or if the disease had proven fatal.

She forced a smile onto her lips to hide her racing thoughts. "Yea, that sounds worse than my aunt. At least she lets me live under her roof." Meelie sighed as a chilling droplet of ice cream began to run down her hand, leaving a sticky residue that she promptly licked away.
